About Me

My name is Zsofia and as an integrative therapeutic counsellor, I provide a supportive environment for individuals navigating life’s most personal and complex challenges. Based in South West London, I offer therapy that is grounded in warmth, honesty, and a deep respect for the person you are – including your cultural identity, your faith, and your unique lived experience.
I have experience working with clients from a wide range of religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. I have a specialist interest in supporting Muslim clients and reverts to Islam, as I understand how deeply identity, family heritage, and faith can shape our emotional world.
Navigating the Nuance of Cultural Identity
Many of us live with the hidden weight of navigating multiple worlds. You may feel a deep sense of loyalty to your family expectations and cultural traditions, while simultaneously trying to build an authentic life that feels true to your own goals. This tension can lead to a sense of being “lost” or misunderstood, even by those closest to you.
In our sessions, we explore these complexities together. I provide a space where you do not have to “translate” your background or explain the nuances of your heritage. Whether you are navigating the pressures of first or second-generation life or exploring your sense of belonging, I help you find clarity. My goal is to help you honour your roots while still growing your own branches.
My Integrative Approach
I work with adults, offering both online sessions UK-wide and face-to-face therapy in Wimbledon (SW19) and Kingston (KT2). Because no two people are the same, my integrative approach means I draw from different therapeutic theories to suit your unique needs.
Our work together may include:
- Internal Family Systems (IFS): Often called “parts work,” this helps us explore the different “parts” of your personality – such as the part that wants to please others versus the part that seeks independence.
- Somatic Movements: We recognise that trauma and stress are often stored physically in the body. Using gentle somatic awareness, we can begin to release this tension.
- Exposure and Repetition Prevention (ERP): For those struggling with GAD, OCD, or Panic Disorders, we use practical tools to manage anxiety.
Issues I Support
I offer a calm and confidential space to explore a range of challenges, including:
- Anxiety, panic, and social phobia.
- Depression, low mood, and burnt-out feelings.
- Trauma and PTSD.
- Grief and the pain of loss.
- Self-esteem and cultural identity struggles.
- Relationship difficulties and family tensions.
- Self-blame and the weight of inner criticism.
Professional Standards and Safety
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work strictly within their ethical framework to uphold an inclusive, anti-discriminatory, and anti-oppressive practice. I attend regular clinical supervision to ensure the support I offer you is both safe and effective.
I offer therapy in both English and Hungarian. For those on limited incomes, I maintain a limited number of low-cost therapy spaces, as I believe support should be accessible.
